Deciding to do Excel-Fu on a set of data and taking it out of context to advance your rhetoric of establishment oppression: you’re not doing yourself a favor.
- You’re propagating the myth women can’t do logic. (for which I do not thank you)
- You’re propagating the myth that feminism is about who has the shriekiest voice, and not the best argument. (for which I do not thank you)
- You’re propagating the myth that feminists believe that all is fair at least in “war.” (against which we have laws and, no, for which I do not thank you)
- You’re alienating people who have not done you (or me) wrong. (for which I do not thank you)
If you want to effect change, don’t stoop your argument to a mental exercise the results of which sound good, but are meaningless out of context (or, worse, plain wrong). Do your research. Or present your results as what they are: Excel-Fu on data, without the heavy-handed conclusions, that would need more work to be truly meaningful, but are still a good start for a discussion. I will then thank you for your effort.
